Gina Goh and Alcino Lopes met in July 2018 during a wine tour in one of the world’s most historic regions, the Douro Valley. This resulted in a friendship with common interests in food, wine and spirits. Subsequently, both were introduced to premium tequila tasting and, in particular, to the exceptional quality of Mi Rancho, still unavailable outside the US.
A business opportunity was created for Gina and Alcino to represent a rare and private brand of tequila, which must be made with 100% agave in its exclusive production zone, the Mexican state of Jalisco. Mi Rancho Tequila was founded by Michael Dean of Casa Tequilera Dean Lozoya S.A. in 2008 and has won numerous awards in international tasting contests around the world. Apart from some large companies, only five families in the world control the tequila designations of origin.
Thus, Gina and Alcino formed TIM Spirit Corp., “This Is Mexico”, in Porto, Portugal, where they both strategically planned to make this city the center of expansion for Europe, Africa and Asia, as the selected distributor for Mi Rancho Tequila. and any other special tequila products from the Dean-Lozoya family.
